==History==&lt;br /&gt;
Over the years, Kasaragod acquired the considerable importance as a centre of [[Islam]] on the west coast. It is the site of one of the [[mosque]]s believed to have been founded by &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Malik Deenar]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;. According to &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Qissat Shakarwati Farmad]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, the [[Mosque|&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Masjids&amp;#039;&amp;#039;]] at [[Kodungallur]], [[Kollam]], [[Madayi]], [[Barkur]], [[Mangalore]], Kasaragod, [[Kannur]], [[Dharmadam]], [[Koyilandy|Panthalayini]], and [[Chaliyam]], were built during the era of [[Malik Dinar]], and they are among the oldest &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Masjid&amp;#039;&amp;#039;s in [[Indian Subcontinent]].&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;Prange, Sebastian R. &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Monsoon Islam: Trade and Faith on the Medieval Malabar Coast.&amp;#039;&amp;#039; Cambridge University Press, 2018. 98.&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; It is believed that [[Malik Dinar]] was died at [[Thalangara]] in Kasaragod town.&lt;br /&gt;

==Location==&lt;br /&gt;
The mosque, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Juma Masjid&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, which is one of the best kept and most attractive in the district, is located at [[Thalangara]]. Thalangara beach is on the western side of Kasaragod town and it is close to the railway station. &lt;br /&gt;
==Holy grave==&lt;br /&gt;
The mosque contains the grave of &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Malik Deenar]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, one of the Taabi’eens (people who had seen the [[Sahaba|companions]] of the Islamic prophet [[Muhammad]]) and the place is sacred to [[Muslim]]s.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;Pg 58, Cultural heritage of [[Kerala]]: an introduction, A. Thalangara mosque is a prominent pilgrim center of Kasaragod district.  &lt;br /&gt;
==Malik Deenar Uroos==&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Malik Deenar Uroos&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;مالك دينار عروس&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;) is the one of the main observations of [[India]]n [[muslims]] to celebrate the arrival of  [[Malik Deenar]] to  [[Kerala]], India. It is conducted in the holy month of [[Muharram]] and lasts for one month.
