'''Manmohan Parida''' (born 24 November 1967) is an Indian virologist, microbiologist and the joint director of the [[Defence Research and Development Establishment]]. He is known for his molecular epidemiological studies of viral infections as well as studies related to epidemics and public health. The [[Department of Biotechnology]] of the Government of India awarded him the [[National Bioscience Award for Career Development]], one of the highest Indian science awards, for his contributions to biosciences, in 2011.

Born 24 November 1967, Manmohan Parida completed his undergraduate studies in veterinary medicine at the [[Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology]] in 1993 and post-graduate studies at the [[Indian Veterinary Research Institute]] in 1993 before securing a PhD in microbiology from [[Jiwaji University]] in 2002.<ref name="Speaker profile">{{Cite web |url=http://bioasia.in/speaker-profile/pdf/2010/manmohan.pdf |title=Speaker profile |date=2018-01-30 |website=BioAsia |access-date=2018-01-30}}</ref> Subsequently, he joined the [[Defence Research and Development Establishment]] of the [[Defence Research and Development Organisation]], where he holds the position of a joint director.<ref name="Doing India proud">{{Cite news |url=http://www.frontline.in/static/html/fl2923/stories/20121130292309700.htm |title=Doing India proud |date=November 2012 |work=Frontline |access-date=2018-01-30}}</ref> His research focus is in the fields of molecular epidemiology of viral infections, epidemics and public health.
