Mohanty hails from Narla. She married Durga Prasad Mohanty. Mohanty made her political debut winning the [[2024 Odisha Legislative Assembly election]] from [[Bangriposi Assembly constituency|Narla Assembly Constituency]] representing [[Bharatiya Janata Party|Biju Janata Dal Party]].
