She is the granddaughter and disciple of [[Krishnarao Shankar Pandit]] and daughter of Laxman Krishnarao Pandit. Meeta began training with her grandfather [[Padma Bhushan]] Pt. [[Krishnarao Shankar Pandit]] and her father Pt. L.K Pandit at the age of 3.
