Emma Jonnz (born November 30th,1995) is a trans makeup artist and Instagram personality[1] who's known for her makeup videos on Instagram[2] and Youtube.
Early Life
Emma Jonnz was born in the south of Sicily in 1995[3] and has a twin brother and an older sister. She moved to Toronto in 2015 to follow her dreams of modelling and acting.[4]
Career
Jonnz joined Instagram in February 2019.Her work focuses on makeup tutorials, fashion posts and lifestyle. Jonnz also uses her platform to spread acceptance and love, specifically for the LGBTQ community, since she is a trans woman and she is part of it.[5].She came out as transgender in February 2021[6] by uploading a video on her channel[7] titled "I Am Trans... Call Me Emma".[8][9].She released a cover of Midnight Sky on iTunes and Spotify and says how she wants to collaborate with Kim Kardashian West, be on tv shows and reality tv and possibly even duet in the future with artists like Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus[10]
Controversies
In October 2020, Jonnz's instagram account which was under her previous name "Jonn Poker" was deactivated due to violation of guidelines, including impersonification. In a follow up article, Jonnz stated that she never impersonated anyone else and that she had always been herself. The account was re-activated almost a month later[11]. Jonnz account was disabled again in May 2021 for the same reason, but this time she explains how people have been reporting her account and that instagram automatically disables accounts who receive multiple reports. The account was re-activated after a few days of being disabled.[12]
