Koothattukulam is a municipality of Kerala state, India[2] in the Ernakulam district. It is Template:Convert south of the district headquarters in Thrikkakara and about Template:Convert north of the state capital Thiruvananthapuram. As per the 2011 Indian census, Koothattukulam has a population of 17,253 people, and a population density of Template:Convert. It is at the junction of Ernakulam, Kottayam, and Idukki districts, in the foothills of the Western Ghats and is part of the Keezhmalanad region.
The town comprises five main localities: Koothattukulam, Vadakara, Paittakulam, Kizhakombu and Edayar.Template:Cn
