The following is a list of metropolitan areas in India by their nominal gross domestic product (GDP) and their contribution to their respective states and union territories. The metropolitan area definition is based on the districts of the urban agglomeration. The GDP of India as of 2022-23 is Template:INRConvert, and the top 50 cities contribute to nearly 40 percent of the national GDP.[1]
