== Main activities ==
Confederation of Human Rights Organizations (CHRO) stands to protect, uphold and strengthen the rights of traditionally exploited and oppressed marginalized social segments of Tribals, Dalits, Minorities, Backward Castes, Women, Children and victims of State Violations.

== History ==

CHRO was formed in 1997. [[Mukundan C Menon|Mukundan C. Menon]] was its founder and secretary general <ref>[http://tamilinfoservice.com/manitham/pr/2005/3.htm  Mukundan C. It then started coordinating individuals and groups all over Kerala who were working for human rights. 

CHRO has been working for the past few years independently without receiving any funding from any governmental and foreign organizations and individuals.

It works with international human rights organisations like [[Human Rights Watch]] to help international society on international human rights issues.
