The '''Early Pandyas''' were the rulers of the [[Pandyan Kingdom]] during the [[Sangam period]] of ancient South India. Along with the [[Early Cholas|Cholas]] and the [[Chera dynasty|Cheras]], they were among the three major Tamil dynasties mentioned in early Tamil literature. The Pandyan kingdom was ruled by a hereditary monarch assisted by ministers and local assemblies. Sangam literature refers to advisory bodies such as the ''Aimperunguzhu'' and the ''Enberaayam'', which assisted in governance and administration.
