Brijesh Mishra Saurabh is an Indian politician from Pratapgarh district, Uttar Pradesh. He served as a Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from 2007 to 2012, representing the Gadwara constituency (now Sadar).
Early life and education
Mishra was associated with student politics and served as general secretary of the Lucknow University Students' Union.[1]
Political career
Mishra was elected to the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 2007 from the Gadwara constituency as a candidate of the Bahujan Samaj Party.[1]
Following the 2012 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.[1]
In January 2022, Mishra joined the Samajwadi Party in the presence of party president Akhilesh Yadav.[2]
He later resigned from the party in 2022.[3]
Legal issues
Mishra has been named in criminal cases reported in the media. According to The Indian Express, a court in Bhopal issued a non-bailable warrant against him in connection with a 2005 murder case involving an advocate from Pratapgarh.[4]
The case was transferred outside Uttar Pradesh by the Supreme Court.[5]
