English: Map showcasing the results of the 1947 Sylhet Referendum alongside the pre-partition borders of Sylhet district under Assam Province of the British Raj.
In the map, the green colour represents the subdivisions that voted in favour of joining the Dominion of Pakistan while the saffron colour represents the subdivision(s) that voted in favour of joining the Dominion of India. The more deeper the colour of a subdivision, the higher amounts of votes in favour of joining a specific side. Historically, North Sylhet, Sunamganj, Habiganj, and Karimganj subdivisions voted to join the Dominion of Pakistan, while South Sylhet (Modern day Moulvibazar) voted to join the Dominion of India. However, despite voting to join India, Moulvibazar was given to East Pakistan.
