Gyanendra Pratap Singh is a 1991 batch IPS officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre.[1] He is the current Special Director General of Assam Police, and had previously served as the Inspector General in NIA. He was transferred to his parent cadre (Assam-Meghalaya cadre) in 2019 as ADGP (Law & Order) amid the chaotic situation during protests against CAA.[2]
Apart from the SDGP Charge, he is also serving as the Director of Vigilance and Anti Corruption, Assam.[3][4]

Singh, a 1991 batch Assam-Meghalaya cadre IPS, has worked in various departments in different capacity. Singh has served in below key positions for both Union and Assam Governments (Police)-
