Amruthalur is a village in Bapatla district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is the headquarters of Amruthaluru mandal in Bapatla revenue division.[1] The village forms a part of Andhra Pradesh Capital Region and is under the jurisdiction of APCRDA.[2]

History

As per Gazettee No. 939, dated the 26 January 2022, the old Guntur district, formed in 1904, was split into Guntur district, Palnadu district and Bapatla district. 12 madals from Tenali revenue division and 13 mandals from Prakasam district was merged into the newly formed Bapatla district.[3]

Geography

Amruthalur is situated to the southwest of the mandal headquarters, Amruthalur,[1] at Template:Coord. It is spread over an area of Template:Convert.[4]

Government and politics

Earlier Amruthaluru used to be an assembly constituency and Saranu Ramaswamy Chowdary was elected member of legislative assembly

Amruthalur Gram panchayat is the local self-government of the village.[5] There are 14 wards, each represented by an elected ward member.[6] The present sarpanch is vacant, elected by the ward members.[7] The village is administered by the Amruthaluru Mandal Parishad at the intermediate level of panchayat raj institutions.[1]

Education

As per the school information report for the academic year 2018–19, the village has a total of 9 schools. These include one private and 8 Zilla/Mandal Parishad.[8]
